Are you an aviator or just want to look like one? If this sounds like you, then there is a timepiece from Breitling that you may be interested in.
It is called the Breitling Navitimer Watch and it is thought of as the original watch for airline pilots. It was one of the first chronograph watches with a circular slide rule on the bezel.
Breitling Navitimer Watch Review
It quickly became a huge success after a model was specially designed for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).
It proudly featured the AOPA logo and was made available for sale to their members. The Navitimer model was once again re-designed when astronaut Scott Carpenter suggested to Breitling craftsman that the 12 hour numerical dial be changed to a 24 hour dial.
The reason behind this design was due to the absence of night and day conditions that are inherent in space travel. Breitling was quick to incorporate the design changes and the watch, which was actually worn by Carpenter on a space mission, later became known as the Breitling Cosmonaute Navitimer.
Some of the more popular timepieces in the Navitimer series include the Navitimer Heratige, Navitimer World, Navitimer Chronomatic and the Navitimer Montbrillant.
The basic Breitling Navitimer watch features a self-winding chronograph that is enclosed in a steel case. The face consists of black dials with silver sub-dials and a tang-type buckle clasp for the leather strap.
While there are several color options, depending on the model, the basic colors for this timepiece are steel, red/gold, and steel/gold.
Breitling Navitimer Watch On Sale
